We Cycle

A Very Different LandFamed for its alternative lifestyles, small independent businesses, industrial architecture and beautiful Pennine landscape, Hebden Bridge is nestled in the 'Upper Calder Valley' near the Lancashire border.  Along with the neighbouring valley towns of Luddendenfoot, Mytholmroyd and Todmorden, it's a perfect location for adventurous (and very fit) cyclists to play but we want to make that experience of the Pennine-wind-in-your-hair available to more people.

The we:cycle scheme is the result of lots of preparation and discussions by the Alternative Technology Centre (ATC) in the West Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge.  We've been working with our partners – local people, community groups, businesses, cycling experts and council workers – to find the best use of electric bikes ('e-bikes') in the valley. And now we think we've got the answer.
